Yes, it's possible. I did.
I started working in commercials in Texas, then when my reel/portfolio got strong enough, I joined Disney's Florida studio. I worked my way up to the story department for "Mulan" & "Brother Bear".
You have a lot of talent. You should keep applying until they say yes.
